A heel spur is a bony growth that develops on the underside of the heel bone (calcaneus). It often accompanies inflammation of the plantar fascia and significantly reduces quality of life in everyday activities.
The main cause is repetitive mechanical stress on the underside of the heel. Over time, the tissues stimulate bone growth, leading to the formation of a pointed outgrowth.
Heel spurs are often discovered incidentally on X-rays — the pain is usually related not to the size of the bone but to inflammation of the surrounding tissues. Proper biomechanical treatment with custom insoles, which help redistribute the load correctly, is very effective.

These methods are accepted in international clinical practice and are not exclusive to our clinic's approach.
- Baropodometric assessment to obtain an accurate picture of pressure and excessive loading on the heel.
- Custom insoles with a recessed heel element to reduce direct pressure on the heel.
- A programme for stretching the plantar fascia and strengthening the muscles of the lower leg.
