Ortho Foot
Custom Insoles and Sports Injury Prevention

It is often assumed that orthopaedic insoles are necessary only for people who already have some form of foot deformity. In reality, even a perfectly healthy foot experiences enormous pressure during active sports. Every jump or fast run places considerable force on the foot's arches, which even a healthy structure may be unable to withstand without additional support.

Over time, a foot left without proper protection may become deformed. Constant excessive loading causes changes in the shape of the foot, which may lay the groundwork for conditions such as acquired flatfoot and plantar fasciitis.

Changes in foot shape and function are not an isolated problem. Since the foot is the body's main support, disruption of its biomechanics affects the entire musculoskeletal system. Over time, this may cause problems in the knees, pelvis and spine.

This is precisely why the use of custom insoles by athletes and physically active people is primarily aimed at preventing injuries. A custom insole protects a healthy foot from overload, preserves its natural shape and ensures maximum safety during movement.

Accepted treatment methods

These methods are accepted in international clinical practice and are not exclusive to our clinic's approach.

  • The Ortho Foot clinic performs a comprehensive biomechanical assessment of the foot to determine precisely how loads are distributed during sports activities.
  • The examination includes baropodometry, performed using SensorMedica equipment, which provides a detailed analysis of pressure points.
  • Based on the examination results, a custom orthopaedic insole is made using advanced materials.
  • An individually fitted insole firmly supports the foot, provides cushioning and absorbs impact forces, substantially reducing the risk of injury.
